Hello! You are probably wondering who we are, what we do, etc. and why we are blogging about renovating a house. We also have a mission statement concerning the future of this blog that you can check out.

First things first: Jason and I met while we were both at Washington College in Chestertown, MD. We met through both our Greek organizations as well as through the English department (yes, we were both English Majors).

During my junior year and his senior year, we moved in together at the small apartment complex nearby. We then bought a puppy, Charlie.

Jason’s family business is located in the same county that we went to college, so we didn’t have that post-graduate stress when Jason graduated a year before I did of where our relationship (and perhaps poor Charlie) would go. By this point, a year in, we knew we would be in it for the long haul.

Jason worked for his family while I finished up my senior year. A month after I graduated, our lease in the apartment was ending and we decided a house was the next option. We searched and searched forever! We saw houses that were beyond our help and in dire need of a renovation throughout, and then even more houses that were just downright wrong for us. But then we landed upon this beauty, and the rest is history.

Well, except that we then decided to be crazy and also get another puppy while moving in. Meet Zoey.

Between having two dogs (one still very much a puppy!) and working full forty hour weeks, I don’t know where we come up with the time to renovate the house! But we have, and we will. We have yet to take any vacation time away from work in order to work on the house (this is something we plan to do later on with the much larger projects) and during this, Jason has even started his own career as a DeeJay!
